But if a few thermometers are wrong then lets not compare the numbers to verifiable correct thermometers.  Its more sensible in this case to scrap every reading ever based off some green paint.

And if a thermometer does show a higher temperature because of development and paving in the area wouldn't it be true that this is an actual man made temperature increase and needs to be included in the data instead of getting discarded.  Wink

I guess the bottom line is that we'll all be pushing up the daisies and not being the ones who suffer when it all hits the fan.

One would think so, but I'm sure there's some reason why it means no climate change records should be used unless they indicate no human involvement.  Those are ok to use.

So you set up a temperature station and you record the temps, then because you're cold and you build a fire.  Now the temps are pleasant, but did they go up?

Since satellites are being used to track the thermal changes and infrared signatures of the earth along with temperature buoys in the oceans  I would think the "Green Paint" theory of global warming really doesn't stand up to close inspection. There's a science called climatology (look it up) where intelligent well educated people actually study how humanity have affected our earth's weather. Even pre satellite climatology was a well studied science, the only change from then to now is that the data has become more accurate. We aren't stewards of the earth, we rape our mother earth for profit and pleasure and deny the damage we cause.

This is pretty much all you need to know as to how the data is collected.

Thank you so much,

How is that statement telling us what we can or can not think?

"How is that statement telling us what we can or can not think?"

Think of it this way, say you said:
“Avocados, Oranges, Apples, are the only things good to eat”.

And tt says: “This is pretty much all you need to know” (about what to eat).

Gee, no one can eat anything else ?

No one can believe something else, is, as good, or better ?

There is a huge difference between saying:
"This is pretty much all you need to know"
and
"This is something you, should/need, to know"

But, a person who believes a person, who thinks they are funny, and a, 'news' site, which ONLY  posts UL 'news', and a Snake Oil salesman, who found out their was NO  MONEY, in Conservative views, so he changed to a UL, Progressive, where the Snowflakes, FILL his pockets.

Saying: "all you need to know".
Is rather Par for it's course.

Yeah, I get it - you hate Cenk.  News flash - he could have made a ton of money if he had stayed a conservative.  What's more. that's not where I get all my info from.  But you don't care - you'll just keep repeating his name as some sort of finger pointing...

Saying: "all you need to know".
Is rather Par for it's course.

LOL - mn, you are so far removed from reality, it's scary.

Sorry - there's just no other way to put it.

The silly examples of what you think are cogent are laughable. (For instance the Apple ad where a girl is sharing her creative talents.)

But I digress.... If it's not clear to you, then let me explain.  What I post on here, in my own voice, are my opinions.

Instead of whining about what I say, counter it.

I never said that you, mn, had to subscribe to my opinion.

It's funny - you talk about snowflakes, but yet you're the one crying about what I post is somehow unfair to you...

you may deny the temp readings
you can try to refute the photos and visual observations of the receding ice caps and glaciers
or you can pull you cranium outta your rectum

I think if that were the case the sentence should read:

This is pretty much all you are allowed to know, believe, or utilize in your life."

Or to put into the food example:

"This is pretty much all you are allowed to know, believe, utilize, or consume as dietary matter in your life."

In my example that I typed the word "should" does not indicate "only, can-only, must be, can only be," or any other method of indicating that the sentence can only exist and be interpreted as I have written it.

There is a huge difference between my sentence meaning there is only one possible outcome and interpretation and my sentence being a suggestion based off of my opinion.

I feel that the phrase: “This is pretty much all you need to know” in this situation is opinion and not a directive towards us stating we must eliminate all other thoughts or interpretations of the topic being discussed.
