The Greatest Love Story . . .

And I ain't talking Jeff Bezos  Grin

But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8

If you have seen the documentary, March of the Penguins, you’d probably agree that it was a riveting tale of survival. But as Morgan Freeman’s introductory narrative made clear, it was more a story of the struggle between life and death. He said, "This is a story about love. Like most love stories it begins with an act of utter foolishness." What a great line!

When you love someone, you’ll go to great lengths to secure or rescue the object of your love. You will—in the eyes of many—behave foolishly.

Just think about things you’ve done or seen done in the name of love. People risk embarrassment, they risk safety, they risk wealth, they risk all sorts of things for someone they love.
( I've done some goofy things, but most of my love'n was done selfishly.....NOT until my wife and kids RISKED it all, waiting for me to learn to love, exampling it for me, staying with me when I was NOT deserving, worthy, did I see my selfish fallacy in thinking of love......arg, I wish it was otherwise,....)

The greatest love story that I have ever heard is the one told many years ago on an old rugged cross. History is His Story—the story of how God the Father gave his Son to rescue us from a life of sorrow and void of hope.

Did you know that God is crazy in love with you? This love, however, is not an act of folly, it is the kind of love that is all redeeming and all encompassing . . . and He’s wanting you to fall in love with Him.

- Steve Arterburn

The true measure of loving . . . is to love without measure. - St. Bernard of Clairvaux

Just for the record, the verse states God loved us as we were still sinners.....
I am STILL a sinner, my flesh will die with sin tainting it.....
I am better than no one, more deserving than anyone....
I, like the love offered from my family and friends, AM NOT WORTHY, of this love.....
But I am so, so, SO, grateful..... for it  Grin

PEACE, JOY, and God's LOVE to EVERYONE of you today, make it special, and oh yeah.....TGIF  Grin

Any particular reason you stay with a family that you do not feel you deserve?  Or specifically feel you deserve their love?

Is it because they want you around more than they would want you to leave?

I've never quite understood the whole paradox of not being better than anyone else, but also not deserving of the same benefits one is willing to give to others.

Oh, GREAT question.....THANKS for keying in on that!

I would venture to say/guess, its part of my old behavior, mindset, that allowed me to "beat myself up" so I could then justify my "medicating" myself.
That "thinking" element/perspective has most likely rooted itself into my brain as a habitual thought......?????
I still use it in a passive/aggressive way to get what I want (accolades) by setting the stage for others to "give it to me'?

The "passive/aggressive" charge against me ( the first time) sent me reeling......
I thought, WTF are you taking about!?!?

That nut took a whole lotta hitting for me to crack, to find the truth of it, and how it has played a part of my interactions....
Still hitting that sucker  Grin

What you think?

As to leaving them, not even on the radar screen, I would give my life for them in a heartbeat, without expectations.....

Also, I had a "sense" of abandonment, as a child, and that too I am most sure plays a part as well......  Grin

Did this help?  Smiley

Thank you.....

I LOVE talking about myself  Grin

Gotta get going now, the snow has started again, darn it.....
Got to fill the generator with gas, suppose to be lots of wind to, which might knock out our power, get some more firewood inside, etc.....

I really do appreciate your replies/questions, all the exchange and interactions is very valuable and enlightening to me, helping me to become a more understanding person....
For Eegore, I feel the root to understanding others, and being a positive, giving person, is to understand self, first.....

Again, THANK YOU Sir!

Oh....OH, OH  Grin

While out splitting logs, pondering, but also paying close attention to my task, the word came to me, about why I did, what I did, with relationships and interactions.....

It's like how I use to want to find the best stuff in the news/internet, to post here FIRST, to prove OTHERS WRONG, etc....

It's all for manipulation  Shocked

When a buddy told me I was a manipulator, I wanted to, er, manipulate him, after I punched him....  Grin

The difference about sharing stuff, and manipulation, can often be a fine line, only the person himself, really knows their motivation, and then that too is not a certainty, or given.

I've always found it easiest to have no investment in the outcome of my conversations.
