Raw text, no tone or inflection,.
I've seen people get in real, drama filled arguments after texting. Just because someone was unable to read in a friendly tone of voice..
Embarrassing..
I'm cool
I knew you were just having a bit of fun.

You're right,...
I don't ride in rain much,.. and when I do it's by accident.
In my limited experience, motorcycles have very little grip in rain no matter what tires you use.
It's the two wheel thing.
A couple of square inches road contact front and rear then add water and you've got a recipe for extreme caution or disaster...
How much rain are going to redirect via a raingroove on a 2 inch contact patch of tire?...
Not much...

If I suspect rain,.. I take the car...  Grin

How satisfied with wet handling have you been?

Those AM26 Avons are GREAT handling tires .  On the front they seem to last forever .    I was hope-ing they would last longer on the rear.   The original Sport Demon (rear) only lasted 5,000 miles and wasn't any better handling than the 8,000 mile AM26. fact is : I'm not sure the Sport Demon was as good as the AM26 ???

This new Nankang is untried as of yet but I'm going two towns over to get a hair cut on it today ...  Roll Eyes

OK , guys

The Nankang is NOT A RAIN TIRE .   I ran into some light rain and wet roads on the way home.
Ya know how before a lot of rain washes to oils off but the surface oils just get wet and floats the oils a little.    Well that was the case today .
I guess any tire would have been slipping and sliding around so maybe I shouldn't "Black-Ball" the Nankang so quick , but things sure were slippery on the way home.  Embarrassed

My metzler 880 rear delivered almost 8,000 miles, but it was spooky AF on wet roads. I found a wide sweeper and hit it a few times and had the rear out, playing With the gas,,, spooky..

You know , as long as the front tire stays planted good the rear don't have to behave so much.   Today they both were sliding around a bit.   I've got a Am26 on the front but we never did get enough rain to wash the oil off good.

I don't have many curves to ride around here and try not to ride in the rain, but so far I have to say the Shinkos grip well in both dry and wet weather. I really do not know how may miles I have on my current rear 712 but it is holding up nicely. The front which is a 230 must have over 12K miles on it and it is also still looking good.

There are a lot of tires available that have a solid center strip, and that does have a downside as it makes it hard to judge how much rubber is left.

This tire looked like it would last for a 4 day trip with MM....I likely would be riding less than 1,000 miles.  Unfortunately it was down to the casing rubber in 1.5 days and 500 miles.

Hay , I was all set for getting a Skinko 712 and while looking for the best $$ with shipping I came across the  Nankang  , so here I am giving it a try ?   I remember OldFeller having a Nankang car tire on his that he just couldn't wear out , so on a spur of the moment thing .   Well , "ya don't know till ya check it out "  Grin

The V-7 being the "WE" bike , it might take a  L O N G   T I M E  to wear it out.   Wink

This thing is Not Holding Air.   Even with 6 ozs of green slime in it it still goes down over night  ???

I going to order a 712 ,

and give this tire to the first 17" rim that needs a tube that comes along.

Angry

I don't remember who I got it from ... but pay-pal will ...

Mike, Check the writing on the sidewall, if it says ''tube type'' it won't hold air without one. It's the way and materials it's made from. Old school !

Soapy water.....see where the tire is blowing bubbles.

Might as well wash the bike while you have the soapy water in the bucket! Wink

The add I bought it from said " Tubeless" but I didn't read the tire YET ?

I've got a 712 on the way , but still it takes about 2 hours to take it off and put a new one on.
