Today I dit some thing remarkeble.

I put my oil plug in the lathe and drilled a hole in it.



Then I put a neodynium magnet in it.



Now I collect the metal particles that float in the oil. And I have a wear indicator.  

And I no longer have to wait for a red traffic light. because I also have a trafficlicht sensor trigger.  

Neat !  

So , when you go into production I'll send my old one back to ya as a core charge and how much boot do ya need when ya get mine ready ?  

I just checked and those magnets a pricey , then they want shipping on top of the price.    Getting them in bulk might make better sense ?

one more nice addition that I do to my drain plugs is to get  them drilled for safety wires.
Really not necessary but for me it is a piece of mind so I don't worry about my drain plug falling out some place.
