A perfect prayer.......
12/05/19 at 07:32:35

I recently heard a story about a woman who invited guests to her home for dinner.

As they sat to eat, the woman turned to her six-year-old daughter and said, "Sweetheart, would you like to ask the blessing?"

The little girl replied sheepishly, "Yes, but I don't know what to say."

Mom spotted a teaching moment, and perhaps an opportunity to draw attention to her own piety.

"Just say what you hear Mommy saying, dear," she said.

The counsel seemed to work. The little girl clasped her hands, bowed her head, and said, "Lord, why on earth did I invite all these people to dinner?"

As much as knowing we are going to have a house full of people stresses me out. A strange thing happens once the house full of family. Generally there is a 3 generations ,just to sit and relax and watch my children tend to their children ,listening to all the different conversations and bickering(it is a family gathering). It all gives me a great sense of accomplishment, that I get no where else , mid life crisis maybe. It all turns into a loud party with everyone having a good time. Make my way around to talk to everyone making sure not to miss anyone, tickling little ones and holding all the babies keeps me busy. Help with feeding them all sometimes more than just one meal. And when all is said and done and they all pack up and leave I get all sad they are leaving and may shed a few tears, but wait I recall seeing my father doing the same thing at the end of family gatherings and not getting it. I am my father son , no denying that !

God Bless

Happy Holidays
