HELL-O.........hell-o.......hell-o

My daughter sent us a ECHO SHOW HD8

My goodness, where is this technology going to end?

I remember watching the Adam Family, on TV.....way back  Grin

And they had a box that sit on the table, it was called Thing.....

Little did I know it was a precursor of things to come, decades later.....

The sound that comes from this thing is amazing.

It does everything, except, teach common sense  Grin

How do you escape technology?

Yes, it is eerie, unnerving, I still wouldn't want to travel to the moon, as my distrust in such technological advances hasn't evolved, and that allows doubt/fear, to be the biggest deciding factor in how I see/view things.......

Ya know the commercial aircraft I worked on, they are working on the technology where it can be flown without a pilot, from a remote location.

I have been in that "command center" in Everette, where every 787 is actively monitored, showing exactly what it is doing....no "black box" needed, thank you  Shocked Shocked Shocked

When, who knows, the biggest arguments against this, is unforeseen circumstances, where AI can't factor it into a "formula" and take corrective actions, like when Sully hit the birds, etc.....

But think about this, they already have sensing devices in cars that can apply brakes, when a obstacle presents itself.....

I use to plumb in DI water, to data processing centers, to keep the equipment cool, heat still is the biggest hurdle to advancing more powerful chips....

Now, your phone is more powerful than those very expensive units that changed the world.....

Not sure you can ever stop this genie.......she is out  Grin Grin Grin

I wonder when they will make shutters for the engines that automatically close when something approaches them.

I'm surprised. Would've expected you to call that good.

How do we escape technology? Can't.
Doesn't mean we should run out and put it in our homes.

I'm just glad this tech is hitting mainstream markets and getting cheaper.  I personally am not a fan of the constant recording and do not use Amazon products, but it's still impressive tech.

I know there is an aversion to this type of tech on this forum but I can't exactly see why.  Either way this is the future, it will be hard to convince a younger generation to go to the library to look up information, wait until 9pm to get weather information on TV, and go dig out physical media that you stick into a box to watch.

"What is so hard about accepting change?"

Who knows, there's a ton of psychology study about this.  Humans associate comfort and security with consistency, and are typically rather illogical thinkers.

Considering my experiences here I'd say it may be money related "Rich Kid spending Daddies money an pee-ons" I think was one of the statements.  Like listening to a speaker requires someone to be rich.  Some people are just weird.
