Audio - Stock Vs Dyna Exhaust

Here's an audio comparison of the stock exhaust and the HD Dyna on the LS650.

FWIW, it sounds even better on the road, underload, de-cel etc

If I can figure out a way to rig up a mic behind my seat (or something like that) then I'll update this post with the results at a later date.

That Dyna pipe covers those loose valves a lot better !  Wink

Did ya put a little hole in the Dyna center block ?

A very astute response MMRanch  Grin The valves are due for a check.

I went for a long ride yesterday, with the stock muffler on. I really missed the prrrrrrrr of the Dyna. When I was on the throttle there was more sound coming out of the air intake than there was from the exhaust! And off the throttle, you'd be mistaken for thinking the bike had cut out!

As for holes in the Dyna, I haven't drilled any.

Tocsik, I reckon the difference in our recordings is that mine are outside and yours are inside. It's good to have multiple comparisons  Smiley

You're after the OEM Harley muffler. The one people take off the new bike when they get it home. There are a couple of versions. The easiest one to fit has a sort of rail underneath that the bolts can slide along for correct placement on the Savage. There are threads on this forum with photos and part numbers.

There are also threads on here about making it fit because it's not an exact fit as it is (Imperial Vs Metric).
