I have heard and read that the new O ring chains are quite good and don't require quite the maintenance the previous chains did. That Z400 is appealing but I must admit I seem to prefer the cruiser/old style naked bike look.

Don't know how far it is to a Guzzi dealer from Houston but I Really like my Savage and my V-9 Roamer too. 55 HP , Shaft drive , Cruiser styling , 4 gallon tank , 16 and 19 " tires , 55 - 60 mpg , Handles like the S-40 (420# full of fuel) , and it looks good too !

Believe me, I am thinking daily about both the Z400 and the Vulcan S. I really liked them both. I'll be taking a test ride on both of them again soon enough.

I understand the $$$ is nice on them too ! I can't have another one unless I loose one of the current fleet ! Well , I really like the ones I have .

I have to admit I have been keeping an eye on a 96 Vulcan 800 on Craigslist. It has been there for a while and either the guy is sticking to his guns on the asking price or no offers have been made and maybe he is ready to just get rid of it. I am tempted to make an offer. This would satisfy my hankering for having one big bike before I get too old. Huh

The 900 has a belt drive and EFI, however it is also 100 lbs or so heavier. The 96 800 is around 500 lbs., the 900 is around 610-650 lbs. That 900 in Dallas is a good looking bike!!!
