As long as you're riding, enjoying the beautiful countryside,, yeah, it's a good thing..

It's not important to lead the pack, but if you can stay ahead of the Harleys, please do..

Hi Zepp,  I've been lucky this year. We had a mild winter and early spring here in Pennsylvania this year so I have been able to get out about five times so far this month. It sure is great to get out on that first ride each season. Usually I have to wait till mid May before it's nice enough to ride.

I'm turning 65 later this year too. I've had my S40 for 8 yrs. now. It's a red '06 model. Had my first bike, also a Suzuki, in 1972. It was a red 67 T-20 X-6 Scrambler 250 twin. It was $300 dollars.   lol! My how things have changed.  I guess I've been riding for 48 years off and on. And still in one piece!  Amazing... Shocked

Anyway, Hope you have a safe riding season.  Happy Trails!

Nice to talk to an old biker in my age!
It seems that bout you and I have got lucky, mild winter and an early spring.
I have a problem that you probably solved, thats about the cklimate in southvest of scandinavia! Moste years May is spring here and good for riding bikes if one have clothings to that!
In any case I started on a Zundapp 125, got me an Suzuki 500 T, twostroker! It was those times, anybody could get a Japanes twostroker, some buy Honda fourstrokers too.
In anyway.. we all drove Japanes bikes,  now todays its all about HD, im conservative, I stick to my favorit brand anyhow.. Suzuki!

If you want to have the image in between the IMG tags, then you need to select direct link. Marked in Red.

Or you can use the Thumbnails for Forums, marked in Green which is what I have used here.

Here's the 'direct link' https://i.postimg.cc/0QZTrRgg/IMG-20200424-170658.jpg  put inside the img tags...

I have ridden off and on all winter and so far in the spring seeing as how I live in the Southeast, namely North Carolina

I have bought 39 bikes since 2008 and have sold 36 of them (all at a loss so I have a perfect record.) The average us another bike not quite every four monthgs...I do it because I can.

The 650 Thumper is among the top 4 bikes that I have liked the most.  That was a pleasant surprise.

Ten miles is my usual ride distance...Too old to do much more than that.

I finally got my bike out of storage over the weekend.*  I needed a spring for a patio chair so I rode down to Ace hardware about 5 miles from my house, got what I needed and headed home.  But, something went wrong on my way home and I somehow put another 30 miles on my bike one the way home.  It's all very confusing but I sort of remember sunshine, 70 degree weather and a National Park happening during that time.   Grin

*Storage for me means the bike sits in the same place as I parked it the last time I rode it 4 or 5 months ago.

Thanks a lot Im only 64 + and an old biker.. at leaste 20 years ago.
Soo I supose that this purchase gona put me back a bit and make me a senior rider of some sort. In any case, I started to look for bikes.. and then it happendes.. I moste have a LS650 or a S40.. it become some sort of obsession, and i find one! A very fine one, whit extras, my nabours think that is brand new, but its a 2000 LS650. In any case im still in love whit it. Juste that it stays in my garage and that I can take a ride when I want, its often cold weather here in the westcoast of Sweden,, but in the summer its great.. about 20 centigrades.

Cheers!  Cool

IE.. im from soutwest of Scandinavia,, in any case Easter was perticuly good weather.. about 10 to 15 centrigades a lot of sun, no rain, perfect for the spring ride!
In anyway, the spring have taken some pause here in soutwest of scandinavia, the forcast says, wath up for snow.. in May?
In any case I got this LS 650 Savage, to be standing in my garage, to put out if the wheather is good  enough, for a ride.

My spring ride has been getting my old Honda xr200r up & running to sell it. Been out riding farmland along the canals , mostly flat and straight every ride speeds have picked up to WOT on the straights then slide it into a hard left or right. Right back to riding the edge in 6 rides. Got bored and decided to chase some jackrabbits behind a warehouse. On my way out I realized I've been riding on a front flat coming out of that heavy gravel next to the R/r tracks. Too late already WOT in 6th gear and I look ahead to see a county sheriff coming straight at me and kinda trapped between tracks and a canal ,snapped the throttle off, slump my shoulders to let him know I'm gonna stop, he pulled up along side looked at the bike, smiled and said good morning and kept going. Wow was that weird maybe it was my longas$ gray hair or something else made him let me slide. In the old days I would have run from him just for fun , just to get my heart beating.
Nowadays if they catch you it's some jail time so it's way more effective if you pull over then bullshit your way out of a ticket. But I was sure I could have got by him no problem and left him in the dust, old habits die hard !
No jail no ticket yes it was worth stopping. Grin Grin

Yesterday I took Thumpy out for his 1st non-shakedown joyride. Went out to Ephrata PA and tooled around on Lancaster County backroads. Got sunburned. Smelled cow manure. Just had fun.
Thumpy feels like a real motorcycle now.  Improvements made to the bike have paid off. Good sweat equity value.

Lots and lots of bikers out too. Got stuck behind some really newbie types on my way home riding bikes worth 10 times what Thumpy costs. But for the most part I had traffic free stretches where I could kick back and just enjoy the ride. Beautiful day. A 60 something Y/O lady at a gas station made a pass at me. I still got it...   Cool

Another 200 miles on the odometer and alls well.
I'm not taking another wrench to the bike till Fall excluding simple maintenance.

Oh yeah. The new clutch is great. Now when I crank it up in the higher gears it's strong like bull. Lots of pull and rapid acceleration. That Toyota Camry that wanted to race me got smoked real good. From 4th gear up I just left him after he'd hung that far.
