The Yoda cluch mod

Hi There,
Yesterday I took my recently bought savage. $150,- Roll Eyes

for a 100 mile ride.

It drives great and has lots or torque.

Now I want to check the tensioner before I make even more miles. And clean the coupling plates and then put in new oil.

Because what I noticed is that the clutch slips a bit in 3rd gear.
I think it is because of the oil because the previous owner was not very technical, and everything he changed, I had to check and repair.

But It can also be, becourse it has more horse power than original:

But now, I read somewhere about the yoda cluch method and that you can put an extra fiberplate and metal plate in it. Shocked

But I don't read anywhere on the forum that anyone has done that.
So here my question: Has some one done it? And does it work? (much better?)

AND 89 hp???? REALLY? Nice work on the bike though! Looks great. Isn't this the one that was mostly trashed when you got it?? I think I kept joking that it looked like it was ridden in the ocean.

I,m stilworking he one that came out of te ocean.

It needs a saddel and a mudgard so i,m making an englisweel.

The large wheel is from a home trainer flywheel.

I bought the purpel one for parts, but it turned out to be a very good bike. A shame to take it apart.

So I had never ridden a Savage and I like it very much.

I'm quite tall and the savage is a bit on the small side. But to speak of a Shetland pony horse, isn't that a bit coarse?

The license plate says 89 so that's official.
Can we stay on topic now? Angry

I don't think there's enough room for both a fiber and metal plate.

MMR added a metal plate because the aluminum basket had worn enough to cause slippage.
But I think it was 1st proposed by OF.

Perhaps there is a possibility there. Place the clutch housing in the lathe. and take something off it.
I have seen te post of OF.

@serowbot I also think the savage is a bit small (although great on certain points) That is why I made the rear bridge 2 "longer.

I am now looking for an 18" rim with 36 spokes.

This is my Englisweel so far:

I made the smallweels with this tool I made:

I move it by hand. the proces is a bit slow, but it works perfect.

And if you conventionally remove most of the material it goes surprisingly fast.
It works very stably.

So I make tools, to make tools, that I will use to make my fender. Hence everything goes a bit slow Tongue

But to answer your question seriously, the build process is slow due to lack of time. And I am forum guru on an another site and I can write in my own language. Writing in English is very labor intensive and is very slow for me.
