GS450 Shafty - GS550

Hey all, was wondering if anyone knows if a GS450 shaft driven would fit in a GS550 frame.
Looking to maybe get a hard tail kit made for GS550 from Lowbrow Customs.
Also was kinda thinking about maybe finding a cheap GS450 frame and seeing if I could chop it with out the kit for practice.
Anyone done this before?

Dang ! it was !! In only one version

That weld on hard tail is made for the chain-drive version ... and ... you'll have to change the lines of the bike to match the angle on the hard tail or you'll end-up with a "funky looking mess" .

Whats wrong with leaving it in a 450 frame ? Huh

You do realize your contemplating digging a money pit ?

ohiomoto Serious Thumper Offline SuzukiSavage.com Rocks! Posts: 2825	Re: GS450 Shafty - GS550 Reply #7 - 01/18/21 at 17:03:12 I think the biggest hurdle is going to be the length of the HT. You can't adjust the length of the shaft drive like you can with a chain.
