I'm happy ,

and intend to stay that way ... Sorry if I was leading the thread astray . Ya'll know I don't know anything about educate and the like , but never mean no harm.

It seems to me that a long lasting tire is better than a 6K-tire any time.
I'll never be able to give the Guzzi a long lasting tire ... it needs a 130-90-17 to make the speedometer right. The 130/80 and 120/90 are both too short . Nothing wider is possible to put into it and the 130 has to be deflated to squeeze in.
What it is ... is ... what it is !

That is the main reason I bought the V-9 , it has a 150 /80-16 to begin with. To bad it also had an transmission from a piece of farm equipment !

In all fair-ness , inside a "Full Face Helmet" I couldn't hear it shifting either , but I like open helmets in the summer .

and smooth shifting machines all the time. My V7-II is as smooth as most other bikes , so I know Guzzi can build a slick tranny if they try .

It seems that I don't have any bikes I could put a DARK SIDE tire on anymore. But , back before the Commander II , there wasn't much choice , but to try something different.
After seeing Dave's bike ride wet pavement like it was dry and trying to follow him on a Harley with a Commander II on the rear , I'm ready to admit : On wet roads those hard tires are no comparison to a well built soft sport tire. On dry roads , I don't think it matters much as long as we're off a RACE TRACK ?
