And that is how adventurous stories are created!

Hopefully the bike has been well maintained and is ready for a trip.

That makes me think back to when I had a Honda CB350 and would take the 300 mile (trip) to visit my mom in NC. from TN.   Back then it seemed 300 miles was an "Epic-Adventure" , and I guess it still is ?   A six hour ride is still a long way from home !
Yep , cruising down the road at 7,000 RPM , and grinning from ear to ear !  Smiley
I would bet that "Back Yard Bill" and his USAF Nija 300 running up to the Dragon Central  had the same grin ?   .  Wink

And Hammer (Steve) will be grinning on that HOG too.   I'd suspect than once he introduces the Harley to the Twisted Sisters then he will be forced  expected to   marry  buy it.  Grin

I was just looking to see if there was "other" things to do in/around Kerrville and it seems everything is centered on weekends.

MM.....Are you looking to get "wild" since Marcia won't be there? Wink

Luckenbach has a band every night at 5PM (6 on Thursday).

On the 16th in Comfort, Texas the Comfort Golden Age Center is having their spring bake sale!  And on the same day the Guadalupe Gallavanters are having their Easter Walk.

Tuesday the 19th is "National High Five Day".

"Cornbread is going to be playing a concert in Kerrville on Friday night at the Trailhead.

Nnaa ,I'd rather get "WILD" when Marcia is going to be there !!   Wink    I'd like to have them drop into Kerrville to visit us on the way back from Calf.   and maybe follow us up to the Twisted Sisters .
But
The timming isn't going to work out right.   I'll swap stories the next week after I get home.

I never have paided extra to hear someone play music but would like to go have a sandwich where live entertainment is going on.  If it works out for us at the time !  Wink

I have never paid to see anyone play golf, or basketball, or soccer, or tennis - I have paid to watch a football game as I had a nephew playing and dad was out of town and asked me to go support my nephew.  I have attended those kind of sporting events when somebody offers me a free ticket.

I have paid to watch car and motorcycle races - including indoor ice races and even monster trucks!  (Deb occasionally goes with me but retaliates by making me attend a ballet with her).

I have paid to see folks play music and I will continue to do so as I really enjoy a good show - but only the ones who are worthwhile! Smiley

We had a nice day here in KY with sun and 61 degrees!

I took the opportunity to load the bike in the trailer.

I need to work the first part of the week and I have a Planning and Zoning Meeting Tuesday night - so Wednesday evening and all day Thursday are my days for packing....we are leaving Friday morning and will arrive in Texas sometime Sunday afternoon.

I've had the thought of pulling the two extra rolls of seats out of my Astro van and using it for a bike hauler but the mirrors are too tall.    There are those little vans that get have more floor to top room that get 28+ mpg too.

The mirrors and windscreen are removable!

I have to take the mirrors off when I load a Savage into my little trailer.....and on the F800 BMW I have to remove the windscreen.  It only takes 10-15 minutes to take it off or put it back on......not a big deal.

I like having my motorcycle in a secure place when I travel.....and it keeps it clean and dry!

Hay Dave ,

I'll have to admit that :   If the van got better mpg than my truck does then I'd be taking the mirrors off !   Wink

I did put "Bar end" mirrors on the guzzi , and they are good ! Smiley
................................

Funny you should bring that "Lower the Front" thing.    I did let the tubes slide up through the triple-tree about 1.5 inch on the guzzi .   It feels 50 pounds's lighter and I can turn it around ridding double now without that "overweight fixing to fall over feeling now.  It might have lost a touch of ground clearence but thats OK because its more drivable now.
I haven't thought of checking to see if it fits in the van (in its shorter form).   Undecided

I'm bring the Savage to Texas this trip.   I wonder if it would benifit from being lowered a bit  ... ?   Huh    I don't drag foot pegs like I used to anymore , now its what ever is easier to handle.

I just heard from Steve a few minutes ago. He said he did pickup his new to him bike yesterday and will be heading this way on Friday. He had originally indicated that he was going to trailer the bike, but I don't know if that is still his plan on the newer bike.

I will be bringing the S40 also in the spirit of tradition of the Savage Hill Country ride. So I suspect it will be 5 Savages, 1 BMW and 1 HD. Should be fun.

We do definitely need to go to Luckenbach again. They had the live music last time and we did not have to pay for it. I really do not remember much about the eateries there as I think we all just got a soda.

Looking forward to seeing ya'll.

One of the routes that Youzguys has planned is for Bandera, and we can see what goes on in town....it is listed as the Cowboy Capital of the world.    It is only 25 miles/30 minute ride from Kerrville.
https://www.banderacowboycapital.com/events/2021/cowboy-camp-with-lew-pewterb...

Thursday they have a Cowboy/Western Swing music jam from 7-10.
https://www.banderacowboycapital.com/events/2021/cowboy-camp-with-lew-pewterb...

The weather forecast still looks good with daytime highs in the 70's....the morning will start out in the 40's!
