Here's a before and after. I'll do the tank later. The fenders were pecked up, probably by one of our hailstorms, since It was sitting outside, and the side covers were mismatched for the year (2002). It came with a Harley take-off that was too loud, plus the slash cut was open on the top, letting rain into the exhaust. I replaced it with a short (Emgo?) megaphone. First startup, I thought, "It seems awfully loud." Then I looked back and saw the glass packing and baffle had blown out the back! Rewrapped the baffle and stuck it back in, this time with the screws. (So THAT'S what those holes were for...) Now it sounds more mellow, but still barks when you twist its tail. I still have to tweak the controls to fit, and adjust the carb. It has a K&N air filter, but I don't know if it's been jetted properly. I still need to check the cam chain, too. Overall, I'm "chuffed".
