Quick Ride to Fayetteville
07/16/22 at 12:23:54

I needed to burn the fuel in my tank so I can install the Raptor petcock tomorrow. I chose Fayetteville, about 75 miles west of Houston. Fayetteville was originally a stage coach station.
I took mostly straight FM roads to get there. I hit the curvy roads on the way home, with the sun in my face. I even did 30 miles of I-10 to round out the morning.
I am doing these little trips to prepare me for some groups rides. I want to work out all the bugs before then.

I saw a guy use a gas can to drain his tank once. If I hadn't seen it happen I Mighta had to strap a gas can on the bike, grab the tools and vacuum line plug, make sure I had the new Raptor and ride it till it was Boooone Dry so I could do the swap.

You ever ride with a group before? I only did it once. Very glad I was at the back.
I'd ride with a small group but I'm not wanting to be up front. Sharing a lane isn't comfortable.

Just jerkin your chain about the gas can stuff.

I rode until I had to switch to reserve. That assured me that I would drain less than a gallon to do the petcock change.
-Petcock change went well today.

Sounds like you are having fun there WB6. Hopefully we will have a Texas Hill Country ride again next year and if so maybe you would care to join us. Thump on!
