This is what the climate change congregation is preventing. The ongoing R&D to develop and commercialize equipment like this. We need more of this. Pushing the envelope and developing technologies that provide energy for the future, not ridiculous wind mills and solar panels. Keep burning fossil fuels until these are developed and ready to go.

That is true of a lot of things. Not Fukushima either. Just because it's Not something that is clearly a disaster, that doesn't make it a working solution to the problem.
Lefties have driven what worked out,and replaced it with something that sounds good.
And when the infrastructure that Would have kept Texas from freezing was replaced with lefty BullShitt ,that got spun, and it would have been a mess even if the power plants that were closed in Texas had not been closed down and replaced with windmills and solar panels..
But when I was roughnecking and we saw negative ten, and a week that never got up to freezing and water lines that had been buried for thirty years froze and busted, we didn't see what we just saw..

Nuclear energy is very safe in the states; more so than in other parts of the world. However, many issues exist. The reason they built large nuclear facilities was it is easier to provide security to the production materials and the used or dirty products afterwards. You will still need to dispose of the spent materials afterwards with a small nuke as well. It significantly increases the likelihood of accidents or dirty bomb materials ending up in the wrong hands.
Best regards,
