I would have a oil drain plug with a magnet in it before it hits the road. You know what it takes to get stuff rinsed out. If it's downhill, it's not coming out. If the transmission is not above the flat of the bottom of the case, whatever is in there will stay in there until you work it out. I don't remember what it looks like. I'd do what I could with the spray can, slap the sides on, it's okay if they ooze a little, I'd fill it up with diesel, no spark plug, if you have to hoist the rear wheel to make the transmission flush into the front, hoist it, spin the tire,in gear.
Drain into a clean pan Maybe through a piece of t shirt See what you get.
If you don't pollute the diesel you can rerun it.
Flush, till you stop getting junk. Pull the sides, inspect, clean.
It's like getting out of a wet swimming suit. No instructions, you start going at it and you just keep working till you get it.
