There’s nothing more ridiculous when the only response to a huge scandal is to cite someone’s opinion of Trump.

Did any Republicans go visit Ukraine after we shipped them billions?

IIRC a whole lot of Ds went there, including some of their family members.

I was listening to a podcast with an SEC lawyer.   They were withdrawing funds from segregated accounts and transferring them to Alameda.  He then took a $1 B loan and then another loan at $2 B.  Musk estimated the $$ given to the Ds was $100 M.  It sure looks like this guy was placed into position and then he mucked up everything.

The radio had the story
Arrested in the Bahamas and we don't have an extradition agreement with them, and they won't let us have him.

Or,looking it up
Instead of just trusting.. I Found this

According to a statement from the Royal Bahamas Police Force, Bankman-Fried was arrested "without incident" at his luxury apartment in Nassau around 6 p.m. Police said he was apprehended in "reference to various Financial Offense against laws of the United States, which are also offenses against laws of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas."

Bahamas Attorney General Ryan Pinder also released a statement on Bankman-Fried's arrest, saying that once an extradition request is made by the United States, his country "intends to process it promptly."

It's got all the look of a fabulous side show. His girlfriend, quite possibly a distant niece of the Elegant and Beautiful Olive Oyl, has got some big time lawyer, name, meh,,sorry.

I've heard all kinds of nonsense about Bankman "hiding" in the Bahamas.

Incidentally from the same sources that complained a "Bahamas Based Company" known as FTX was running crypto.

I'm a bit surprised this is being addressed so quickly.

I didn't see that ,but I understand it.
That's called
Hiding in Plain Sight.
So good at it,he was ,that he could be hiding in the Bahamas and Simultaneously running a big operation.IN the Bahamas.
I'm Trying to envision how that could work.

The only thing I'm surprised about in this saga is why didn't he go to a country with no extradition?

Well, his arrest meant he didn't get to testify? He was supposed to be having a conversation with some important people,, Congress? But now,, gee,,that doesn't happen. Brilliant work. Like they didn't know..

I understand the point you're making and you are correct.  All they would make him do is squirm a little.  He will lie, deflect, and obfuscate what transpired without any consequence.

I disagree. He has been pretty brave about talking. If I was his lawyer I'd be glad he was arrested. So he would stfu. He didn't go where there is no extradition.
Maybe he thinks he's created enough of a group of democrats to avoid prosecution.

I assume it's because he wasn't on the run.  He lived in the Bahamas and ran a company there.

E is possibly spot on. Why run if you don't expect to be arrested? He thinks he's bulletproof, because of all the money he has dealt out to politicians. Both sides,I'm sure. The bubs  who voted against Trump may have been given some.

They killed a chance for him to sink himself, or maybe some recipients, or maybe some connections to high level people who helped him get going. Now, this guy who has information is being held in a bad place. I'm sure We are coordinating with Them to ensure we get him back to put on trial.
Coff Coff

Sam Bankman-Fried, the Democratic megadonor charged with what the Department of Justice called "one of the biggest financial frauds in American history," is being held in a Bahamas prison that's notorious for pest infestations, unsanitary conditions, and violence.
