The weather has been unusually warm for January in KY - and the roads are not covered in salt! I have been able to sneak some rides in while the weather has been in the 50's (we were at -7 a couple of days before Christmas. I don't ever remember being able to ride in January any other year. Its Cold and Rainy here in TN. With a few 50-60 deg./dry - days that call for a mid afternoon trip.

Me and Marcia enjoyed a nice long New Years Day ride. The warmest New Years Day I can remember.
But
The week before and the week after Winter was letting us know what time of year it REALLY is !

I walked over yesterday and took a look at what happened the night before...
not much, 10-20 feet on 1 side of rock and sand.
and this is the 3rd year after a major fire above me.
1st year was serious, 4 blocks of mud on both sides between concrete barriers.
1st block has a lot of slope to project the mud down the street.

for areas with a fresh fire, if not planned for the mud flow can be devastating.
There's no stopping it once it starts moving.

yes, I'd say over-reported as my area isn't worth reporting this year, but it was.
But they also report earthquakes under magnitude 4, that's an everyday occurrence or like a truck passing by.
