Hey there everybody . I am looking for a start button contact for a 1999 . i could be calling it by the wrong name . it is the little piece of metal that sits in the spring of the start button   and makes contact when you push it to start. long story short last owner painted the right side controls  and the start button was sticking. when I cleaned it and un stuck it i lost the little contact . does anyone know  have one or know where i can purchase one ? I would really appreciate any and all help .  thanks  DK

Yeah I am really not wanting to replace and rewire the entire right side controls over a lil piece of metal. also there are very few if any motorcycle junkyards near Portland Oregon .  I may try to make one if I can find any measurements for  the piece. possibly I can find or size one down from a different switch assembly. mostly I was just looking for ideas or suggestions to do other than order the whole assembly . besides it being money id rather not spend I feel its kind of a waste not to try thanks   hit me up or post here if anyone has any suggestions

Yeah usually that is  true but I  wired mine thru the handle bars and it was a huge pain to run the wire's " for that no wires look ."  it seems like such a simple piece. also Im super cheap and hate spending money and wasting an otherwise useful assembly. thanks DK

I have an assembly with a START button and a STOP button.  It looks to be off an ‘80’s model bike.  I opened it up and appears to be unmolested except for a spider.
