I live in Italy and I wanted to know if the model in question suffers from the starter motor gear problems like the previous ones. Any other issues to check? the bike has 16000 miles. Thank you

Greetings , Models 96 and later have the updated starter gears. With some work newer gears can be adapted to work. At 16000 k on the clock you should be replacing cam chain tensioner and can also develop an oil leak at cyl head. See market place , then see Versey , he’s got the stuff. So welcome , help yourself to marketplace and the Tech section. You’re in the right place and heading the right direction. Get a manual.

I would just get one from Versey and replace it. It’s cheap insurance against a failure and severe engine damage. Check the tech section and read about it.

I Need tò buy new timing chain , i see DID chain but i canti find the exact code . On eBay i see no brand timing chain but i have fear tò buy ..
