You can Treat rust and clear over, but the Iron Phosphate that Ospho makes outta the Iron Oxide is black. But it beats Truck Cancer.

Think I’m done till about January , time to throw the big blue tarp over the old girl. Got a bit of rain last night , more later in the week. It time to start collecting parts for the frenzy to get her back on the road. Spring ain’t till March but I’m startin in January , nothing but busy with projects.
Spring Fever will start early next year and rage till it rains again. Back on the Half Pint till she becomes a rolling project. Six days a week I am doing a project. Go go go !

If I don’t stay busy I’ll just drown in human quicksand and fade away. For me it’s to occupy my time and mind in a good productive way. By the way last weeks guitar project turned out great , on point ! She sounds like a Gibson should , absolutely sounds like a million bucks , Done.

Finally I’m learning to shift gears at my age and affliction. Maybe not what it sounds like , but it’s a mile stone for me. OCD has been a pia for years , decades. Im learning to finish projects , I said learning. Just the ability to finish any project or stop and go back to other projects when unable to finish it before. It’s bringing me great joy , before I was only 1 project at a time start to finish. Now bring it on , I can manage multiple projects at once with efficiently. I used to drop projects , sell or trade them away and I may have a few that are older than my adult children too.  Wrapped up the F100 for a few months and went right back to Half Pint and got to paint the living/ dinning room area for the wife. A balancing act of different projects. It’s has been getting back on a project that was hard , but no more. OCD  may never go away , recognizing it is key to repairing yourself and making adjustments. 3 active m/c , F100 and a house projects , now not enough hours in the day !   Cool

Now I know why the driveway has cracks , I thought it was to stop my screwdriver from rolling away. Doing a quick rejet on the tracker , bowl off pilot swap and I fumbled it went thru everything hit the ground , rolled into a gap. Fumbled it again , it went way in the crack , I could still see it but no way to get at it. Bugs , all kinds of fun stuff in there , now that neighbors are watching me stare into the crack I got to do something. A sliver of alien tape on a splinter of wood from a 2x4 , last chance , failure not an option. Little ba$tard keeps sliding further into oblivion , finally it sticks , crisis avoided ! Yes my world is still spinning !

Out for a spin on the tracker today , a cool 50 ish but sunny. Cool damp mornings seem to be the best throttle response , roads wet with dew or early fog. A tricky combination super crisp throttle and wet roads , oh yeah out of town in farm/ranch lands. While the roads are mostly straight but every turn has a different surprise. Dunlop 404s can be forced to drift in slippery conditions, big wide bars make it fun. Maybe drifting is an exaggeration somewhat cause it’s more of a slip n grip , square up the corner. Not a performance tire but it is as tough as a truck tire and gets the job done. This bike was built tough for daily service. Just for raising hell !

Next spring or summer I’m gonna clear coat Double Ugly to preserve what’s left of paint & treat & seal the rusty spots. I found a kit with everything needed , Poppy’s Patina. A wipe on treatment, 2 part , guess like epoxy. Now I just have to investigate how to prep/pretreat the rusty areas. I like that. Now I’m thinking that a wipe on will have to be done in cooler weather maybe next October leaving me time to treat the rusty areas. Just to hot here in summer for a wipe on. No tape job needed when using a wipe on and no overspray. It seems to be best option for diy that don’t have access to a spray booth or 2 k to have someone else do it ! I might even try it on my original paint Half Pint project.

Just realized I’ve been on this forum for 10 years. Never meant to do anything but get some info. Think it was my second forum all the others are gone , but I remain here. Must be a relaxed mello environment for me.
I guess I’ll do another ten. Thanks for the space for me to be me.    Cool

Bought the Boulevard ,new, in 05. Found this place. I had to work on a 4 wheel drive Raptor, years ago. Found a forum, nobody wanted to help me. The Kawasaki Eliminator forum is just weird. This place? So well designed. And the people are great. People who I disagree with on the Tall Table get my full support with any problem I can help with, and it works the other way, when I'm in a bind.
Uncommon,

I’m so close to finishing the frame for powder coat , all the smaller parts are ready.  A bit of welding , grinding & smoothing rough areas , removing welding goobers from factory welds. When it all comes back it’s all about assembly , some polishing to do too. I have triple clamps but an associate has a very nicely polished set and we were negotiating on , but he wants to sell me an entire front end minus fender & headlight. Email him and restart negotiations. Many boxes of ready to go parts , many bags of hardware ready to go , but shock bolts will need shortened. When frame is out I’ll start on resealing and polishing the engine , it was rebuilt 40 years ago and never run so if there it no moisture damage it’s all about cleaning and replacing gaskets & seals. Intake and exhaust is done , forks & wheels done.  Have new stator & rotor on the way. Once I get it assembled wiring will take some time , I’ll send seat out before wiring. No speedo , it fell victim to weight reduction and dislike of clutter on bars like the tracker. It’s got gps speedo & antenna , voltmeter , button , mirrors. If I need a speedo for some reason I got a cheap gps speedo ( read out only ) no odo , it’s about 2 x 3 x 2 and a small Velcro patch to mount it. Things are beginning to finally coming together !

By this Friday , so it puts some pressure on powder coater to get it back to me before Christmas ! I know what I’ll be doing after the clan gets done trashing my place and goes home on Christmas Day. It should have been on wheels with engine complete and installed and wiring in progress by now.  Still super excited about this project , very important build for me , maybe not as extreme as the tracker but still gonna be a one off piece of work that I will also see it as artwork , motorcycle porn , and pay homage to British styling all in one bike. Im sick with anticipation , I just want to see a roller ! Idk how others will view this build , expecting mixed criticisms , already had mixed opinions on it being a 250 and British so let me set the record straight , I DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE THINKS !    Grin Grin Grin Grin  Grin Grin
Deafening Loud Evil Laughter.   !!!!!!!
