2012 White Spacer Observation

This isn't a question, but an observation, so I'm not using Rubber Side Down.
I did the spacer mod yesterday on my 2012. I still had my old 2003 spacer in my bag of tricks. The 2012 spacer is noticeably thicker! I guess Suzuki couldn't get enough of a good thing.
Another observation: I'm an idiot. I had what I thought was a sufficient amount of gas to test things. It turns out these bikes don't start too well if you don't put the petcock on RES when you're low on gas
. I had thought I screwed something up doing the spacer mod. With age sometimes comes wisdom, but not always.

While replacing the toolkit cover that the previous "caretaker" said he would send me, because he would most certainly find it eventually (5 months ago), it occurred to me that he stripped the head or lost 50% of the screws/bolts he touched. This is a guy that supposedly restores classic cars. The screw holding the left frame cover (ignition stuff) on was jacked up so bad I had to cut a notch in it with a grinder and use an impact screwdriver to get it out.
