And as I,m working on it, I touched my ignition coil and it's pretty hot... I can barely hold it. Is this normal, if your key is in the ON position?

The ignition fires the plug at TDC. Every single time. Exhaust also.. If you turn the key on while the piston is at TDC, the ignition is firing the plug, like a tazer with the button held down. It will destroy your very expensive ignition module.
Key on not running isn't safe. You can unplug the module if you need to have power to figure stuff out.
Idling on the sidestand starves the high end of the cam for oil.

The coil is connected to the battery all the time the ig switch is on.
The TCI controls when it's grounded. Grounding it causes a spark.
Recharging the coil limits the current but when fully charged more current flows and your coil gets hot.
Plus while stationary no air is flowing so it gets more hot.

While running, current threw the coil is about 4 amps and about twice that with the ig on but not running.

So, try to only have the ig on while running or only a few minutes while checking something.

I'm going to check tomorrow to see if I have spark but I'm afraid not.

It Turns out That my ignition coil has died on me.

And I'm a little shocked at the price of a new one. I see them from $17.50 to $200. Often I see that they all have the same photo.
Apparently a lot of people trying to make a lot of money eazy. What about it?
Are those cheap aftermaket ignition coil anny good?

And are the ignition coils frome a Suzuki intruder te same as the savage?

You can get an OEM coil from this place. Shipping to your country might be expensive though.

I've bought from them and the service was good.

Check the part# for whatever year your bike is but I expect the coil is going to be the same regardless of the year.

If you think the coil is expensive then the ignition module must be astronomical. Getting the wrong coil can fry the module.

They might be, but the part number for the savage is 33410-24B00
The 24B means it's customized for the savage
The 00 on the end means it hasn't changed since the beginning.
I don't know what's different, could be the length on the wire, the plug, the mounting or something else.

Suzuki awhile back started using common numbers for common parts so the same part number will be seen in different bikes.

Got it for 20 dollars. Ill pick it up first thing tomorrow. I know a lot more about Ignition coils now

Hy Guys here an update:

The ignition coil turned out to be good after my lockal garage tested it.
I had measured it as I had seen on a YouTube video, but it turned out to be different for the Savage's ignition coil.
So everything was put back again.

I had looked somewhere here on the site and read that it could also be old fuel. so I drained the float and opened the fuel tap and Vroemmmm. The engine started immediately.

The next problem soon announced itself.
The cheap raptor petrol tap from Aliexpress turned out to be leaking after turning it off twice.

And thats why you don,t ordere the chinees ones... Embarrassed

Gasoline was dripping from the air filter when I got up. the tank was half full but is now half empty. Wink

(Pardon my little Joke)
I lost a lot of fuel. Sad

The neighbours complaint about the smell of petrol.

I installed another Raptor fuel tap and there was a small amount of gummed gasoline on the rubber of the fuel needle. Huh

Now order a new gasket. I hope I can get the carburetor back on, because it was very difficult to get it out.
Tip of how to do that best are verry welcom.

Excessive amperage caused by lower resistance can damage the module, and the correct primary winding resistance assures that won't happen.

Tanks Bob,

Today I have put the carburator back on his place, It runs better than ever.

But I lookt at my oil level and I see that a a lot of the gas that I had lost ended up in the engine.

The oil in the engine is only 1 week old. But of course I can't drive like that.

Can I take it out and let the gasoline evaporate? and then put it back in again. Undecided

Or should I just put new oil in it?

I noticed the price of the igniter is frighteningly high ($561 on sale). I hope I never need one of those. I guess Verslagen already mentioned that (ignition module).
