Right rear turn signal - missing piece?
09/28/23 at 12:39:12
Hey, I'm Kelly and I'm new.
I was trying to access the bulb on my right rear blinker to change it and I ended up unscrewing the entire blinker assembly out of the grab rail (not sure on that terminology, but that's one I've seen around here that I believe describes the part I'm referencing). (If you're wondering or shaking your head, I did that because I could NOT get the cover off the darn thing).
My problem is, I now have bare threads on the actual blinker assembly and it no longer fits in the hole I took it out of. Did I drop/lose a part or something?
Please help a newbie out!

The turn signal is held in by a screw that is located on the bottom of the chrome rail. You remove the turn signal by removing the screw prior to taking out the turn signal.
Unfortunately the electrical connector is located way inside the chrome rail, and you need to remove the rail to access the connector. That requires removing several bolts located inside the fender.

Check out the tech section, there's a lot of helpful info there.

you'll have to download the file and unzip it, then open it with adobe.
scroll down till you find the turn signal.

Thank you both! I didn't see (or feel) a screw on the bottom. And I did find (somewhere) a how-to on getting that rail off but it involved removing the tire and that was pretty intimidating to me. Plus I didn't have a stand or anything.
Whether I should have been able to or not, I was able to loosen the rail enough to wiggle the wires out of the top, maybe because they had become disconnected.
That parts document is awesome! Whoever put that together is a hero!
