Engine covers coated with Cerakote

Recently I have started using Cerakote products. The coating is more durable than paint or powder coat - it is quite a bit more work to apply and it is expensive.....a pint of the coating is $70 and with shipping snd taxes it is nearly $90! In order to use the Cerakote you first have to scrub and degrease the parts, then bake them in an oven to get rid of any oil that may be stuck in the pores, then sandblast, then wash and bake again, then spray......then bake the finish at 250 degrees for 2 hours. The result is a finish that is very durable.

I coated a set of engine covers to use on my current Retro-Standard project, and after they were finished I discovered the color was just a bit too yellow to match the silver engine enamel I used on the center case and cylinder.

Below is a clutch cover case that was the first piece i sprayed.....it had a bit of uneven finish as I was learning how to spray this product. It requires only 20psi to spray, and you have to coat it very wet and only apply a single coat in cool weather....if you spray a second coat or make any overspray the finish becomes uneven. You can see the color is a bit more yellow than my engine.

Here is a shot of the completed case covers. They are all excellent without any dirt/runs/sags. The finish is very satin with almost no reflective shine.

The cases would look great on a black engine......maybe you would like the contrast on a silver engine (I would prefer a closer match and have found a color closer to my silver engine that I can use).

I am offering these for sale to forum members - with your cases sent back to me. Your cases must be in good shape - the left side cover must be the later style that uses the the torque limiter starter gear. A bit of corrosion is fine, but they cannot be deeply scratched, warped, bent, etc. If you have an extra set of cases you can mail them to me first and I will not require a refundable deposit.

I am asking $180 for the Cerakote cases and that includes shipping, and the refundable deposit for the covers will be $200 until I receive your cases.
