Backrest / sissy bar question

Hi all just wondering has anyone fitted a backrest from an early model bike(not 100% sure of a year but I`m thinking when they came from Suzuki on the bike ) to a newer 2017 bike ?
I have all the bits but the rear bits that bolt onto the rear guard are not quite the same as the ones on the bike

The back rest fits from 86-2019, you have to use the bolts as one is shorter then the other
