It's hard for me to tell from the audio.  I hear mostly exhaust.  You almost need a before and after.  You'd obviously be the best judge of that.  I also have to put my ear next to the head to really decide if I'm happy with my valve lash adjustment.

A little ticking is okay.  When they are really quiet is when I wonder if I didn't leave enough clearance possibly causing the valves to not fully close.

I’m saying you need a audio recording of before and after to compare sound.  I’m assuming he meant the shop adjusted the valves after they replaced the plug cap.
