not direct current but Washington DC. Just spent a week there for work.

Reminds me of a European city in the sense that the vast majority of all women are beautiful, everyone seems to have a “sidewalk dog” they walk early in the morning and at night, not a lot of children running around, they live in very expensive apartments or condos, as best as I can tell by the number of door-dash scooters they rarely cook, and honk their horns more frequently than New Yorkers.

Oh, and I stumbled onto a senior citizen assisted living facility with a big fence around it and snipers on the roof.

I have a 90-year-old mother-in-law in an assisted facility and she think she is 18 one day 60 the next day, thinks I’m her son, brother, husband, father, grandfather the next day. Thinks she’s at a teachers conference in the 1960s and has to get back outside for recess duties. Whatever is left of her mind, if an idea pops in there, that’s reality for the moment.

In other news, the President of the United States imagined his uncle was eaten by cannibals.

I was n DC to attend the data center conference. The priority for that industry is energy. Right behind that is energy and in 3rd place is energy.
We’re kidding ourselves if we don’t pour time, effort and money into nuclear R&D. It’s our future and we need to stop this childish dream of achieving net zero through wind mills and solar panels. Of course 8 billion people on the planet impacts the climate but it’s not catastrophic, it’s not an existential threat to humanity. It’s a temporary issue that can be managed until we transition to nuclear.
