The problem is how each human will define "Border Czar" in this case since "Border Czar" is not an official position as it lacks legal recognition in US political positions. She was called a "Border Czar" by Gaetz for instance, an undefined job title, so that becomes whatever you want it to be. Again, whatever you want... it to be.
Bob Unanue President of Goya Foods and chairman of the Hispanic Leadership Coalition called her a "Border Czar", so if that, to you, makes that an official title then she is a "Border Czar". If his opinion is not an official definition, to you, then she is not a "Border Czar"
So it's essentially a nickname in this case. This then means people are arguing over what her responsibility was called by literally each individual reporting party's interpretation.
If a website called her "Border Czar" and that, to you, is a official definition, then yes she was.
If an online website called her "Border Czar" and you do not consider their definition to be official then she was not.
She was assigned the responsibility of identifying "root causes" in places like Honduras. I know this as a team of my "underlings" are stationed in Honduras and sent information to ICE and CPB, in response to this. None of the paperwork, online information, or WH briefings use the term "Border Czar" so to me, no she was never given that job by her employer.
None of this means Harris did a good job, it only means there is no official "Border Czar" title given to her by the Biden Administration.
