Sexy beast for sure. That and the Vincent Black Shadow had it all.

The Vincent was gorgeous and fast. Not sure what year my favorite is, but I'm partial to the '52. They say the '55 series C is the best. Maybe since it was the last year?

I could never understand why more motorcycles don't have shock mounts like that.

And so simply executed. Does it take tools to move the upper shock mount in the slot, or is there some sort of release?

It takes a spanner. Loosen the bolt and slide them any way you want, it only takes a minute.   The Venom I had was the best handling bike I have ever ridden, everything about it was perfect.  I discovered it's still on the road now, 53 years later.

I love old aerodynamic , art deco designs of the past. Especially the ones with bodywork , semi or fully enclosed. They were all so advanced for their time and so sexy. Everything built today look like all body lines start at front axle , angular , with 0 personality ! It’s easy to design just a pencil & ruler ,
again 0 time spent on design ! Motorcycle porn , Artwork on wheels , whatever you want to call it , moto-history.

" Nearly 60 years have passed since an international cadre of Velocette enthusiasts braved certain discomfort and actual physical peril, to ride a humble Velocette Venom with no lights around the Montlhéry race track for 24 hours, lapping consistently at 107mph, to average 100.5mph. Many had attempted the ‘ton for a day’, and some succeeded afterwards, but Velocette was the first to do it, and the record still stands for a 500cc machine, set half a century ago, on March 18th/19th, 1961. "

The bike they used to achieve the record was a standard production Velocette Clubman Mk1.      I was speaking with the owner of a clubman just today, he is old and can't get it on the center stand to start it.  He said I could have it for 6000 pounds sterling (   $ 7,540 USD )

I just agreed to but this 69 year old Viper. Rebuilt 20 years ago and sat unused  in a museum.
