Saddam accused Kuwait of slant drilling from Iraqi oil fields
He talked to Us before he went in. We Told him we didn't Care what he did.
We installed him.
When he started making noises about moving away from the dollar for oil trades, he fell from grace.

I think I will stick with the FBI interrogation reports and April Glaspie's accounts.  The logic that Saddam talked to the US, we said sure go ahead and invade, then he immediately decided to "move away" from the US dollar makes little sense given how quickly the US defended Kuwait.  This whole economic shift for Iraq happened between the invasion and  Resolution 660?

My gut feeling, and i sincerely hope that I'm wrong, is that this attack is going to turn out to have been a huge mistake.

June 22 (UPI) -- In the wake of President Donald Trump's strike on Iran's nuclear sites Saturday, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said Sunday that "a number of countries" are ready to directly supply Iran with their own nuclear weapons.

A former Russian president says countries are going to give nukes to Iran and you believe him? We just bombed the crap out of some country because they were working to even begin building nukes. Do you really think a “number of countries”, are ready to give Iran, fully functional working nuclear weapons?

That seems highly unlikely.

It's been too long for me to be able to quote the timeline.
Both things happened.

Well it goes to show how stupid Saddam was and how incredibly efficient US Congress was at that time.  He gets the ok to invade Kuwait from the US then in less than 4 hours starts talking about restructuring his entire economy, we find out and begin Res 660, all in less than half a day.

That sounds way too convenient and efficient to me.
