DragBikeMike,
The carb has a "high speed filling tube" which is the adjustment closest to the seat in the picture. It has a fuel line running down to the bowl. I guess this is supposed to pull more fuel at WOT. I can see after riding mine has some fuel in the line. I guess this is considered a "power jet"?

HALP!
So today was my first day commuting to work after the carb install. Bike seems to be running pretty good overall. A few things I noticed:
-Don't need to use the choke at all to start / warm up. (lean symptom?)
-Decel pop mostly all gone (rich symptom?)
-While I was on the expressway in 5th - doing about 65-70 I went ahead and went WOT to see how it would react - started accelerating fine, but after a few seconds it bogged dramatically.
Anyone weigh in please.
Does this seem like a rich / lean condition, or something else / combination of factors?

Tuning guide that came with the carb basically says it is lean, and switch to a larger main jet. It also says to check the spark plug to verify. I don't really want to pull the tank tonight. I may adjust the power jet and see if it makes a difference. Depending on weather I will be commuting on the bike again tomorrow.

The fact that you don't need a choke to start the bike and it runs just fine when cold - is an indication the mixture is too rich.  A bike with a carb should require a bit of choke for a cold start, and a bit of uneven running while the engine warms up.

An engine that is too rich and "bogs down" is usually indicated by a change in sound, black smoke, and poor fuel mileage.  At full throttle IF you slowly roll off the throttle and the engine runs better - that can indicate the mixture is too rich (the mixture leans out as the slide closes the fuel jets and the vacuum increases.

An engine that is too lean is often indicated by an unsteady/uneven acceleration (surging).  The engine will accelerate or cruise unevenly, you will likely get lots of backfire and noise when you close the throttle to shift gears or roll off the throttle and slow down or decelerate.

The fact that your bike doesn't need a choke to start and runs smoothly when cold makes me believe the mixture is too rich.  The absence of backfires also indicated the mixture is rich.

When I am not sure how to jet, I may start a bit rich and look for the telltale "bog" at full throttle.  Then I start stepping down the jet size until I can feel the uneven surging that lets me know the engine is too lean.  I then know the proper jet is somewhere between those two extremes.

Thanks again Dave.
What you are saying makes sense.
I went ahead and installed the K&N air filter just now, and planning on commuting again tomorrow. I'll report back either tomorrow or over the weekend. Maybe I'll have a chance to inspect the plug this weekend as well.

Did a couple things and think I solved the problem.
Adjusted the powerjet needle all the way in - no more bog at WOT.
Looked at the powerjet line and didn't see any fuel in it after riding.
So I think I have completely closed off the powerjet.
Also moved the slide needle clip up one notch - which makes the needle seat just a bit further into the main - now I have a tiny bit more decel pop.
I could see possibly moving down one size on the main jet and opening the power jet back up at some point. Overall I am happy with how it turned out and plan on keeping it this way for a bit (until I get an urge to tinker with it some more)
