New York is on a downward trend? How do you figure?  How about California? MAGATs have been saying California is failing for at least two decades, and in the meantime, its economy has gone from 5th in the world to 4th. Scandinavian countries have capitalist economies controlled by socialist ideology. Economies are complicated--- MAGATs can't get over the fact that very few complex problems have simple answers. MAGATs also can't understand that economics and government structure, while related, are different processes altogether. That's why they confuse dictatorship with economics. They are too simple minded. The arguments are : dictatorship vs democracy, and capitalism vs socialism. Any mixing of the terms is comparing apples to bananas.

OK. Cuba restricts speech. So does China. So does Putin. So does 47. In the comparison of dictator vs democracy, the US is now a dictatorship.  That has nothing to do with the economic system. I maintain that, in the world market, the US's version of capitalism cannot hope to compete while there are socialist produced products. The rest of the world knows this, and even the capitalist countries have moderated their capitalists with "socialist" laws. What's wrong with requiring a successful mega corporation to help support the people who made them what they are?


What is a "true" democratic socialist country? Is it the same as a [i]de facto[i] democratic socialist country, like Scandinavia, Europe, GB, and many others?
