Less control

At some point, are we going to far? You can read the whole article but basically it’s an idea that to control emotions to take control of the cars and the stop lights so that you minimize stop and go traffic and supposedly cut emissions significantly.

We have driverless cars, driverless taxis, adaptive cruise control, lane alerts, and new motorcycles are adding more technology all the time.

At some point, will we discover an unintended consequence of less involvement in driving our vehicles? Do our brains, which are more and more exposed to screen time just to function in society today, need the demands placed on us by physically operating vehicles?

I think so.

I agree. We added a roundabout near my house which was a high traffic area and it is much better but I will say when I ride my motorcycle through there I am on high alert because people still get confused on roundabouts so you have to be particularly careful. That will change over time.

That’s an example where people are forced to pay attention, to use their brains. That’s what I’m talking about. I think automating cars and even motorcycles could have potential unintended consequences.

To Late.

Has already happened.

Not to long ago a 19-21 year old, on Price is right, asked if the 50,000.00 fancy sports car on his showcase was a manual or automatic.

It was a 6 speed MANUAL.

He PASSES,
cause he said does not KNOW how to drive it !!!!!

The testosterone levels have dropped precipitously. I'm surprised anyone can field a football team. Putless Gussies abound. And vote democrat.
It took me less than twenty minutes to teach my girl to drive my four speed pickup, And be able to do the Heel on the brake, toe on the gas and take off uphill without falling back or scorching the clutch. She also rode the Savage. Not a Democrat..
