Circumventing ignition and start button to start?
Today
at 14:15:42
I am really not riding my little S40 at all anymore, it just sits outside. I probably rode it twice in the last two years, both times less than 20 miles. Wanted to take it for a short spin yesterday, but the electrical connections must have corroded badly. When I turn the ignition key on, I have to wiggle the key inside for the lights to come on. And my start button has been acting up for a long time, now it just refuses to work, the contact inside must be corroded. Wondering if I just use a jump cable to the positive lead on the starter, is that going to do the trick? At least to circumvent the start button?

while you could do that, it won't last long.
jiggling the key to get the lights to come on says the power to the ig box will be intermittent.
and of course will cut out at the worst time.
I think both the ig and start switch have contacts you can clean.
