Yea ,  It's totaled !

August 15th .  The motor mounting bolts broke because it hit so hard.
The good news is : my Dr. has released me "To resume normal activity's" as    last  Wednesday  . Smiley

I've replaced it with a 650 RE Interceptor .   It's a little more than 100 pounds lighter than the 650 Meteor was , but the Brakes and Motor size's are the same.   Wink

Dang!  That’s a long recovery!  Take it easy out there - the muscle memory might take a while to come back!  Really glad to hear you’re alright and can resume “normal” activities.  I guess in your case, motorcycle riding is considered normal activities.  Doc probably meant frying your own bacon, cutting hay, and shoveling snow!

I know the Interceptor.  I actually considered one.  Cool bike!  Share a pic!

I've not taken a picture since I started adding stuff like Hard Bags , Windshield , Touring Seat , Tank Bag , Luggage Rack and Trunk , Crash Bar , Belt Drive w/taller gear rato , that's all I can think of for now ... But I think I'd like to lower it a bit and go to Mag Wheels when the factory tires are gone.

Yep , it's been a long recovery .   But , I can't complain ... I'm still above ground and took a nice Bike ride today !   Smiley

I would like to lodge a complaint.

The only handlebars I have been behind are when I am removing snow....I believe it has been 5 times so far this winter - and it is 6 degrees this morning!

This has been one of the coldest and snowiest Kentucky winters I can remember.

I am ready for spring!

Here in TN too !   Smiley

Normally I'll light the wood stove for those cold snaps that have daytime high's in the 30's - 40's , 3 or 4 days in a roll.
This year I've had the stove running for two week and counting .   We did have one day of 50 degs. for the high ... so I took advantage of it.  It started to be a 5 mile loop , but it turned into a 30 mile loop.
Barclay , full face helmet , warm mittens ,Long Johns top and bottom (October through March) and warm jacket w/liner in it.  Smiley

I've got a friend that said he wanted to ride the 3 Twisted Sisters. I may try to find a good time for it in March or April. Still open to other ideas though. I'm pretty sure I could convince him to go ride some other good roads.

Hay Springman

Are you fishing for  seeing who would want to rent a cabin near the Sisters ?   Maybe even on the west side where the Big Bend Area is ?  Or , you thinking of a one or two day thing ?  When the weather warms ?

I've got a bike that's never been anywhere now !   Today I put shorter (1.5") shocks on it today to bring the center of Gravity down a bit , and put slightly smaller and much lighter mufflers on it too.  I think it's  down to 400 pounds now.   Smiley

You likely don't want to go to Big Bend in the summer - it is just too hot!  We went the last week in March, and the temperatures were up in the middle 90's every day (about 10 degrees higher than predicted).  It was hard to get a camping spot in March - it is a popular time for visitors.  A google search says March/April and October/November offer the best temperatures to visit Big Bend.  Staying in a tent is going to be a bit challenging - the nights can be really cold and the days really hot.....best to find a place with heat and air conditioning.

This video is a bit Off Road related - however the towns and fun stuff are mostly accessible by paved roads.

Here is a video with a road related theme:

If you head out that way and can pass through Comstock Texas, stop at the J&P Bar and Grill for the absolute best hamburger in the world.  Deb and I have eaten here 3 times.....it is incredible!

I'd be open to a shreiner park trip late april
If we can get together 6 or so, the ranch house could be available
The river mini cabins don't look like they're open at all.

I’ll be in the Hill County 4/24-4/26 for a Vulcan group meet and greet ride.  I may stay longer.  Our main riding day is 4/25 with about 4.5 hours of saddle time.  We’ll head out of Bandera from our group leader’s house and the AirBNB rental across the street from his home.  We will be passing through Kerrville and Luckenbach on our route.  I’d definitely make a point to try to meet up with you guys if you do the trip around then.

Kerrville-Schreiner Park is open, though recovery is still underway after the 2025 flood. Some trails, mini cabins, and riverfront areas remain under repair or are temporarily closed. Visitors are encouraged to stay on marked paths, follow posted signs, and exercise caution around any damaged or unstable areas.

Map of the planned route as of today.  Subject to possible minor changes.

PS - Nice bike, MM.  Keep the shiny side up!

MM, yes I am curious to see if we can get a group together for Kerrville. Versy, nice to see you again (or your post anyway). I need to be in Houston April 25, but other than that March, April, May sounds good. I would call Hammer and see if he is interested. So if we can arrange it I Hammer and Super Dave (don't ask) that might want to show up also.

As of right now on accuweather the last week of April is looking the driest.

Neal, you think you could put up with us for a few days? Cool
