2026 Rides

. But certainly open to new places to ride.

I was watching a "u tube" thing about Oklahoma about two days ago and  there is ghost towns in the pan-handle , some Mountains , and some places  are scared from old Earth Quakes.   I'll see if I can find it again ?  Its a two day ride from my house to the OK pan handle.   https://greatmotorcycleroads.com/oklahoma/#259

Not too many rides in NW Oklahoma . ?

I'm good with a budget motel or camping cabin either one.   How about we start a 2026 Ride topic ?

https://ridermagazine.com/2024/12/17/50-best-motorcycle-roads-in-america/

We've done 3 out of the top 4 already !   Smiley

My bucket list item is South Dakota

Anybody have an area or event on "The Bucket List" ?

Let's do the Dalton Hwy! Shocked Shocked Shocked

Maybe not. But I am open to most any ride. Still working though so going beyond a week might be difficult. But who knows? Wink

I am very partial to the Texas Hill Country but very open to new places. Oklahoma sounds good to me and both Colorado and Arizona look good also.

Will have to figure out which bike to take depending on where we go. One will need a new front tire soon and the other a bit of work in general.

I’m good for pretty much anywhere.
There are lots of roads everywhere that I’ve not ridden on yet.

Deb and I went to Big Bend last year.  It was a great place for hiking and 4 wheeling - if we had adventure bikes/dual sports we could spend a week there.  If you are on road bikes the area could entertain you for a few days of sightseeing and stopping to eat - the roads are not TN/NC/GA type of mountain roads.  The place is very dry and dusty - they only got 2 inches of rain all last year.  We had a good time hiking/sightseeing/eating/camping.  The National Park has nice places to stay and good scenery - the State Park camping area is very rugged and there are no facilities...you need to "Boonedock".  We stayed in an RV campground in Study Butte that was about half way between the headquarters for both parks....20 mile drive either direction for most hiking areas.

The off road trails are not maintained and were pretty rugged.  The washboard surface limited speeds to 8mph, and the washes crossed the road at angles and you had to crawl over them slowly.  We took a 25 mile drive to the Mariscal Mine and the trip was an 8 hour round trip.  The interesting thing about the off road drives/rides in Big Bend is that all of them are in the valleys between the mountains - the mountains are too rugged to be driving on.  There is some elevation change in the valleys caused by erosion - but you are not climbing big hills.

I am open to rides in the TN/NC/GA/VA area this year in the spring/summer - Deb has us already booked for family style camping trips in the fall.

Good morning Dave  Smiley

Thanks for the input .

I hope to do some of the rides in our area of the country this summer too.
Two Wheels of Suches , at least one Dragon Run , and in the middle of the summer maybe those KY. rides ?     I saw some WV. rides too , it may be true about WV not having any flat places ?

I'd like to find somewhere we haven't been yet that Springman , Versey , Lancer . and our other folks west of the Mississippi folks can join us at ?

In the July-August time ... maybe get a camp site in the SD area for a week ?   I'm not getting any younger and my bucket list isn't getting much shorter !   Undecided Smiley

Yep, thanks Dave. I have not been to the Big Bend area so totally unfamiliar with it.

Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky area all sounds good to me.

Versy, what say you?
