The other day I needed to run to the hardware store, so I rolled the bike out of the tack room, dug around for the key, and couldn't find it.  I turned the house upside down looking for it, no luck.  Well, I keep a spare behind the license plate, so I removed one of the screws, got the key, and went to the store.  When I came home, the plate and frame were gone.  I forgot to put the screw back and lost the plate on the highway.  DOH!!  And on top of this, when I got home I found the key in my wallet.

Luckily, my wife found the plate the next day while on her mail route.  Scared me though, I just paid the registration.

I lost the plate off mine in two or three days after purchase. Didn't even know it was gone until I got home from work and the wife told me the police called about our bike. Seems someone found the plate and turned it in, the fuzz ran the numbers, and held the plate for us. Good thing I was in the sleepy south when it happened, western Washington, I'd have never seen the plate again.
