The IRC tires are what come on a brand new Savage.  Suzuki puts out a bid request to get the best price when building these bikes. Most people are glad to replace their IRC's with an upgrade when the time comes. The only benefit to this auction is you get a matched pair for less shipping cost and a pretty good price as well. Now imagine what Suzuki pays for these tires.
The Kenda is a bit better choice, and a pretty cheap price, but you still have to search out a rear replacement.
If price point is your only criterion get the IRC. Heck it was Suzuki's tire of choice, but now you know why.
We have recently discussed 140/90 vs. 140/80 and for some, the taller 90 series can cause clearance problems.
If you don't like messing with your bike, get the IRC's. Cripes, I can't believe I'm saying that.

what do you guys think of Shinko? Ik can get a really good deal on those (€150,- or $200,- for front+rear, which is cheap to our standards), but I'm not sure whether they're good quality or not...

Yeah, I read that in a couple of reviews elsewhere too.  That was one reason I went with the Dunlop 491's instead.  They're supposed to get great wear.  They were were more expensive than the 404's but less than the Metzelers.  I've put about 2000 miles on 'em and it's hard to see any wear... except a lot of the chicken strips are gone.

There's a guy in Germany that sells whitewall paint. Sort of rubberized & he made it for classic car restorations. I google searched & found his website awhile back. But the paint cost close to what the tire cost. It may be my only option though. The whitewall I ordered Sep 17 is STILL on backorder & my dealer has no answers. Getting VERY frustrated at this point. I'll have pics....next year? 2007? Who knows.
