new bars need risers
04/24/08 at 18:37:25

just installed some new drag bars on the bike.. looks freakin sweet!
but now the bars hit the tank.. already gummed up the paint.

anyone know where i can get some 1 or 2" higher than stock risers? i only need to lift the bars about an inch or two.. want to keep them as low as possible cause i like the look.. but cant keep hitting the tank everytime i park it and turn the bars.

thanks

"Highway Hawk" do an excellent, range.

I will have some 4" risers soon as I am going back to 2", but am in the U.K.

I just installed these risers and a pair of drag bars.  They work great.

Very important: these will not work with your stock dampers, unless you  drill them out to fit a 1/2" bolt.  You will need to order 1/2" dampers and hardware to fit them.

so is it safe to assume the factory suzuki risers that came on my bike are 2" risers?

ive been searching around ebay.
i got my bars for $20
trying to do everything on the cheap.

thanks for the jcwhitney link!
currently looking for the risers.. and a better side mirror solution.. now the bars are so low i can barely see behind me at all. need a mirror that sticks out further to the sides.

i will say this though.. the lower bars are more comfertable for me and i have way better control over the bike.. plus in my riding climate i stay a lot warmer behind able to crouch down like i can now.
would definately reccomend forward controls for anyone who puts their bars low like i have done.. the legs get a little cramped sometimes.

teaser pic.. ill get better ones soon.. sometimes its hard with my crappy cell phone camera

I think that anything under 4" might cause problems with hitting the tank.  I believe the stocks are 2".

I hear ya with the leg crampage with this type of setup.  I need to get forward controls, but i'll save that for next season.

The risers for the drags are at least 4".
