Interesting ride yesterday. Was headed to check in for a subbing job I did today and the Savage started sputtering. Was about 116 Miles into the tank so shifted to R, no change, then P, no change. Finally tried the cold start enrichener and it worked OK up to about 55. Filled the tank and went to see the teacher I was subbing for. He said I could pull it in the shop if I needed to. While still outside, I did check for water by draining the float bowl, looked like gas to me. Nursed it home and on the hoist. Again checked the fuel, main hose was marginal with lots of external cracking. Put a clear piece of hose on and checked fuel flow, was fine and with a vacuum pump check the tank valve for proper operation. Pulled the bowl and main jet, seemed to be something there, but after next whoof of air was clear. Reassembled and was going to see if the slide was sticking as that will make it run lean. But rather than not know what I did I rolled it out and fired it up, and headed out the dirt road to the street. First time I have really cranked it WFO since putting in the cam, guides, gears, and tensioner this winter. It will now go sideways on gravel!! It didn't do that before. The cam makes some difference and it was the torque cam I ordered from Lancer. Very pleased and as far as I can tell it hasn't hurt the mileage, only had enough good weather so far to run 3, maybe 4 tanks through this season. Who made up the bit about global warming, we are still having ice hanging off the irrigation equipment in the AM and it is May for goodness sakes. Hay is up from dormancy and must be very confused going dormant at night and then trying to grow during the day. Anyway, Lancer the cam works great along with all the rest of the new stuff. Max
