Spark plugs & more

So I've finally gotten time to work on the bike again. can anyone point me to a diagram where everything goes? I don't have a manual & can't find where a hose goes, nor can I find the spark plugs. Again, in a beginner mechanic & know very little. I also need to know if I need to add gas to my carb since I took it off & put it back on. I sprayed starter fluid in it as a local mechanic suggested but not sure if needs anything else.

One spark plug, left side of head, under the chrome cover... Turn petcock to prime if your float bowls are empty... about 30 seconds should be enough, then put it back to on, for riding...
