Changing ones outlook without looking outside ones current base of information wouldn't be expected. I'm an American, raised in the same schools, started off as a Democrat. Saw that things just aren't As advertised So, went in search of information that allowed me to start to have an understanding that made observed reality Not in conflict with what my eyes are seeing. It's NOT comfortable. But, I prefer an uncomfortable truth over a comfortable fairy tale.
Now, read the last sentence of the intro to that Advertisements for gold.
fine "History of Monetary Systems" was written by Alexander Del Mar in 1886 [footnote]. The book was important enough to still be in print in 1983, and it is equally telling that for 20 years it has not sold. It describes countless varieties of token - or 'numerary' - money systems involving paper money, silk money, copper money, iron money, rice money, mystery leather bag money [footnote], fish money, clay money, porcelain money and many others. Del Mar was an apparently rigorous historian who was distinctly hostile to a central monetary role for gold.
Go Read the article. DR stated that the college he attends has professors who see the world much the same as I.. so, obviously I don't stand alone and college professors who stand apart from the masses and particularly the left are OBVIOUSLY doing their own thinking. Look at what the Federal Reserve CLAIMS as its goals. Note that not only has it failed to achieve those goals, but has done so so miserably that the hand tailored three piece suits that cost a twenty dollar gold piece back in the early 1900s, can now still be had, for either a gold coin, or 12 to 13 hundred bucks.
I'm not suggesting that we use gold as a monetary standard. Though, since we completely decoupled the dollar From gold, things are worse. Is there a perfect system? I doubt it. But, we ARE being lied to, we are going downhill, I distrust the debt numbers, and I think it's time for people to do some digging into the system we are using. The more who actually Understand what is being done the more likely we are to get things turned around, but while the general attitude of the population is to look down their noses at those people who are saying that We are getting screwed, it ain't gonna change So, Henry Ford slept, shaking in terror, under his bed, wearing a tin foil hat, because he UNDERSTOOD the banking system for what it is.
