Guess your best.....
11/09/17 at 09:35:26

Will power shift in 2018?

Still a long way off, doubly so in this environment.
Goodness, most reported too close to even call in Virginia before the outcome revealed it shouldn't have been.

I think this will prod many on the right to hang it up, as they have no idea where they fit anymore.
I think fresh folk is better.

The left will most likely think this is a sign Obama is back...
Embracing their failed policies once again.
The extreme left wing holds too much power in that party, Stiflingly any real movement to the center.
It will more than likely back the old horses or the California and New York mentality of progressivism.

It will be interesting to see if Trump can finally shut up, but I doubt it....
He has shown no ability to date to keep from harming himself by his lack of discipline......

Either way..... we are in new territory, should be fun to watch!

I disagree - look at who won in some of these races.  One was a Democratic Socialist with ZERO Pac money *gasp*!

You're not going to see the same old democrats - that establishment has gotten just as bad as the republicans.

Again, I disagree.  Look who's running against diane f. in CA.  She's got a huge primary challenger in a Justice Democrat (read - progressive).

It will be interesting to see if Trump can finally shut up, but I doubt it....
He has shown no ability to date to keep from harming himself by his lack of discipline......

His endorsements are worth next to nothing.  Approval polls don't lie, even though so many conservatives on here think they do.
 Virginia was a perfect example.

Not sure Virginia is a good example, historically they seem to elect a governor opposite of the president.
The house races, I know nothing of them at all, other than the democrats swept out republican incumbents.....
Is it more local, or a national trend.....???
I lean toward local, as Hillary won his state too.

Did any state flip from Trump to Democrat in this election?
That would be telling, if it happened, and more of a possible indicator.

Re: democrat incumbents......
That could prove very costly, leaving money in short supply for the general elections, look how Hillary blames Bernie for her loss....

I see two things for sure, a good shot for new blood, which was a very important component in Trumps win, those folks are still looking for anybody but the ones responsible for a messed up system.

And two, it will be costly, the most ever, and that windfall will just keep benefiting those who profit off this rigging.
It's one of the things that has hampered our system.....

They will do whatever it is to keep the money flowing their way.

Impeach him all you want, it still does not change the fact of the energy driving our political process.
If you can't grasp the fact that something greater than a blind allegiance,
to one, of the two parties, is changing the landscape, that is on you and your own ignorance, the earth ain't flat.

I can't believe that you think our president is anything but a dolt.  Look at "his" policies.

They are 100% republican - right down the line.  He's not a "disrupter" he's a puppet on a string being controlled by the establishment.  As long as they treat him like a king, he'll sign anything they put in front of him.

Yeah, he talks like no other politician and has no check valve, but that just makes him stand out, not outstanding.

A look at what Historically happens when one party has so many seats will show you that losing seats HAPPENS almost every time.
And, considering the FACT that so many bubs would have rather LOST to Hillary than see Trump win, ask yourself, if you can without lying,
What are the odds that bubs are willing to give control over to lefties in order to work against Trump?
You guys are so sophisticated.

I think your dislike for him is tainting your reasoning....
Why would McCain, etc, be at odds with him if he was a puppet, as you say?
The Bush cartel did not want the man in office, why, if his policies are good for the party?
It doesn't add up.

I think you guys are hung up on thinking people voted for Trump on policies, etc.
I say not, he won mostly because he bucked the system.
He is quickly proving his ineptness, as well as other personality shortfalls, and he would never win reelection even if all these walls, healthcare, etc, come to fruition....

If you go and look at Obamas first term, he got much of the same vote that Trump did in the states that made the difference....
Obama was the new face, however, his policies quickly lost all the gains and put repubs into power....

You can't deny that.
You can try, but you will really have to delude yourself in doing so.

Well then ray - you show me where he goes against the establishment republican grain.  Where do his policies differ from that of the Bushes or the McCains of the world?

I think you guys are hung up on thinking people voted for Trump on policies, etc.
I say not, he won mostly because he bucked the system.

How?  In what way did he buck the system?  The only thing he did was make the dummies think "He talks like me".

Well, he did pass the ACA and a host of other things.  But by and large, after 2010, anything from him was either filibustered or died in committee.  Remember all the records set by the republicans for filibustering?  Remember how Obama couldn't even get a vote on a Supreme Court nominee with 10 months left in his last term?  Remember the "turtle" saying it was his number one job to make Obama a one term president?

Our current president has been impotent in his first year, yet has more party support than Obama ever had.  That should tell you a lot right there.

You can't deny that.
You can try, but you will really have to delude yourself in doing so.

The only delusion here is that you somehow think that the orange kid in the white house is some kind of mastermind.

Sorry, that couldn't be farther from the truth.

Lets try one answer at a time, it might be easier to dialogue this way....

You called Trump a puppet, of the Republicans, yes?

I said if that is true, then why would Bush vote for Hillary, and why McCain is so adversarial toward Trump.....?

Your reply is: Where do his policies differ from that of the Bushes or the McCains of the world?

I will offer McCain's vote on the so called Obamacare repeal, is one.
I will find more.

Now, please answer the question I asked: why would the Bush's vote/endorse Hillary, if Trump was a puppet to the policies of the Republican party, a rubber stamp?

That does not give testimony to your argument.

Then you further offer a conflicting argument:

Our current president has been impotent in his first year, yet has more party support than Obama ever had.  That should tell you a lot right there.

If he was a puppet, doing the Republicans business, he would not be impotent, they would pass it with their majority vote.

Where did I ever say he was a mastermind?
Can you show me that?

Yes.

I said if that is true, then why would Bush vote for Hillary, and why McCain is so adversarial toward Trump.....?

Because they see him as a danger to the republican party.  His tweets, his lack of intelligence, etc.

Your reply is: Where do his policies differ from that of the Bushes or the McCains of the world?

Weak sauce ray - tweety's policies are EXACTLY in line with the establishment republicans.  All he cares about is being treated like a king.

Now, please answer the question I asked: why would the Bush's vote/endorse Hillary, if Trump was a puppet to the policies of the Republican party, a rubber stamp?

First off, they never endorsed hillary.  Second, show me where tweety's policies stray from the establishment republicans.

That does not give testimony to your argument.

Oh, but it does.

Then you further offer a conflicting argument:

Our current president has been impotent in his first year, yet has more party support than Obama ever had.  That should tell you a lot right there.

He as a president has done nothing presidential.  He has not inspired anyone nor followed through on any of his campaign promises.  His only accomplishment has been to sign EOs and run his mouth.

A true leader would ignore the bad press, the entertainment industry, the approval polls and do his/her job.  His biggest accomplishment thus far has been creating distraction.

If he was a puppet, doing the Republicans business, he would not be impotent, they would pass it with their majority vote.

Um, that's exactly what he'd be.  Not in control himself, but being controlled.  Think before you post ray...

As to the majority vote - look at why/how the Obamacare repeal failed.  He is so inept, he can't keep the party together.  He has no control.  His is an ineffective/inept/impotent leader.

Where did I ever say he was a mastermind?
Can you show me that?

I never said you called him a mastermind - I said you "somehow think he's a mastermind".  Please learn comprehension - that was an inference.

From your other posts, you seem think he's smarter than he actually is.  Pretty simple concept.  You think the same of yourself.    Grin

You really are missing something.  Further, you can't show me where tweety's policies go against the republican establishment.

Your own testimony.....

Because they see him as a danger to the republican party.  His tweets, his lack of intelligence, etc.

You site a danger, but if they are pulling his string as a puppet????

We are going in circles.
I will wait for others to chime in, sometimes a different perspective can really help.
