It would be very good if news became factual and balanced. The way I see it - YMMV - the left wing press is telling the truth. However, they decide which truth they want to present and hence can skew a topic heavily to one side. The more main stream right wing press work on a similar way, only they will try and tilt their readers into believing something rather opposite. So while neither side is actually lying, they do try to inflict an opinion.

News sources like BBC, New York Times and Fox some of the proponents of that line of thinking. They will work hard to present correct facts, but they tend to present somewhat one-sided facts that support their own beliefs.

On the other side of the fence, you have the extreme right wing press that construct their own "truth" and "facts". Breitbart is one such source, out of many, but those who believe them will of course deny this. I'm sure it is the same on the far left, I just do not know of any from the top of my head.
