Small pin found after removing clutch and cover.
09/14/22 at 23:52:34
Hey guys. I found this small pin on the ground after I removed the utch cover and clutch and I can't find where it goes.
I don't believe it to be part of the clutch as I was very careful to account for everything.

check your clutch lever, likely has zero tension. looks like the push rod for the clutch.
Start over!
Cheers!

If you mean the push rod in the middle of the clutch assemble its not that. And this one is much smaller than that

It may have fallen off elsewhere from the bike. Is there anywhere external like the clutch lever or something that may had it there? This has me stumped.
I did blow out some of the engine with a small blower, not high pressure, to loosen up the metal teeth I'm searching for.
Surely it hasn't come from here

Not going to lie this has me pretty scared and stressed out.
It's not off the oil pump gear on the back of the clutch basket.
It's not the clutch push rod. Please help lol

the parts list describes that pin in the balancer as 4.5 in diameter by 9.5 long.
what are the dimension of your pin.

Just a guess but it could be part of the clutch basket.

I thought so too mut that pin is still in place.
The previous owner did the timing chain so could it have been from that?
Could it also be from the oil pump? I've ridden the bike about 500 kms with no issue if it's from the pump or timing

You don't want the oil pump gear in backwards and it is easy to do, so pay attention, pull the gear and see if the pin in your hand will go in the oil pump. Maybe someone thought they lost that pin, replaced it and it was floating around in there waiting to get between things?
YaKnow, they sell an oil drain plug that has a magnet in it.
IDK for fact that the oil pump Has a pin that comes out.

Do I have to pull the engine out to get to it?

Is this the part you are referring to? The pin I found is a bit shorter

Could it have been the cam chain sprocket locating pin? Or could it be from somewhere else besides the motor
