TheSneeze's clutch cams

I have my replacement clutch cams back in stock.  These are the answer to the broken clutch cam issue with Suzuki's stock, sintered metal, part that is brittle and can fail.  I have mine made from AR500 alloy steel, which is by far much stronger.  The are priced at $20 each, plus $5 shipping in the continental US.

Today I made my first International sale.  The parts are going to Denmark!  I have to say, filling out customs declarations are not a whole lot of fun...  Shocked

Custom forms, aren’t they just so fun ?
Been doing those for years.
About the time you get use to them the change ‘em.
Joy.

I hate foreign addresses and sometimes they use shorthand and not list the address in a standard format
You can go to google maps for a little help with standard format

Hey Sneeze.  I may be in the market for one of these.  I’m in Houston which feels International but has normal addresses.  This post needs a bump up too.  I’ll be in touch when I figure out what I’m doing .

Sneeze:

I sent a cylinder head to the same place......it was scary!

USPS sent me a notice that the package had missing information on the package and could not be delivered, and I needed to contact them within 24 hours.  I made several attempts to contact USPS about it and all I got was a form I could get to redirect the package to a different address.....however it was for redirecting the delivery at my address (not the Denmark delivery address).

It turns out the head was at Customs waiting for the VAT (Value Added Tax) to be paid and there was nothing wrong with the delivery address.  Once the buyer paid the VAT it cleared customs and was delivered without issue.

The whole thing had a happy ending - but the fact that USPS only has "forms" and you could not actually talk to a person or get the real story on the delay was stressful for a day or two.

I am NOT complaning, but my steel clutch cam failed today. Stuck in stop & go traffic on I95 15 miles from home, pulled in the clutch and ''snap'' no clutch. Thought the cable broke, but wondered about the ''snap'' noise. Rode carefully thru the traffic mess, got to my exit and hit 2 green arrows to get into my neigorhood, lucky.
Broke a clutch cable once 60 miles from home, from a dead stop in first gear you can hit the starter and go,,,, really akward for the first 10-15 feet but it works.
Got looking at the bike and the cable is fine, the arm moves up and down no problum. Pulled the clutch cover off and the cam was in 2 pieces. REALLY LUCKY the broke pieces did not mess anything up.
For now I am going back to the stock cam (if I can find it) and cross my fingers.

Any other details?  Barnett or stock springs?  Stock 11 plate, or modified 13 plate?

If anyone has not been following my build thread, my inventory on these AR500 clutch cams were lost in my shop fire.  There are none available at this point.

Stock springs, 1 extra steel plate. Been fine since I put it in, like 2 years ago? Then today SNAP.
Dave will post the pics.

Are you sure that is a genuine "Sneeze" clutch cam?

It sure looks like a stock one to me!  Notice the depressed shoulder at the center hole.....that sure looks like it was formed/stamped (not cut from a blank).

Dave, Are you sure? The one that broke has been machined, while the other has wrinkles from pressing or forming. My memory is not the best, but I recall swaping that out when they came in.
We will have to get  The Sneeze to give us the final word.

That broken one is a stock part. Since the ones I had made were laser cut, they had to go through a vibratory deburr operation, smoothing and rounding the edges.  That broken piece looks like it has edges that are too sharp - not vibratory deburred.  That's my $0.02...

I have no doubt the broken one is a stock part......they have that stamped edge around the center hole.

OK I'll eat crow, all the oem clutch cams at the parts places show the nice machined one. THE ONE THAT BROKE!
I could swear I changed that.
It was NOT one of The Sneezes.
