Dyna Silencer & Jet kit...
08/02/08 at 01:48:59
The wifes new bike backfires like crazy. I am at work so she is gonna go to the local bike shop & have them do the white spacer/carb tune. Looking on fleabay there are a number of dyna silencers for around $25, so I figure we should do that at the same time, to get the jetting right the first time.
Is there a specific type I should be looking for? How does it mount? I did a search but only got a few hits...
Also, is there a specific jet kit for the bike I can get? Where is a good place to get it?
Thx
S.

The jet kit you can get right here, just contact Lancer. I don't know about the mufflers, I run a Jardine muffler myself.

I was running a jardine, bike backfired a lot. I did the white spacer mod and riched up the air fuel mixture, it helped but didn't stop it. Then I put on a dyna muffler and bingo no more backfires -- at all.
I got it on e-bay for 5 bucks plus shipping, was used and blued slightly but an easy bolt up.

Should I just be searching for ANY dyna pipe? And it will pretty much bolt right on?

Seiver...did you slide your dyna muffler directly onto the stock header or did you use an adapter to match them up and vary the angle a little? I found I needed an adapter to have the muffler mate up with the stock mounting bracket (well not exactly but close enough) and with a little angle to it so it would lie flat against the bracket.
